Cordia Quartet is back this Wednesday, 18th June, at St Francis Church in a concert consisting of Mozart's no. 16 in C Major K465 ('Dissonance') and Ravel's Quartet in F Major. Cordia, meaning 'hearts' with overtones of 'harmony': rest assured there will be nothing dissonant about Mozart, or Ravel, for that matter!

Opera Nova Project, under the direction of Gillian Zammit, is one of VIAF's major collaborations this year, and it is with great pleasure that we are presenting tenor Stanley Joe Portelli and pianist Christine Zerafa in a recital of two magnificent song cycles by Hahn (text: Verlaine) and Berlioz (text: Gautier), together with a couple of Debussy Preludes for good...

And the chamber music series continues with a formidable trio from Slovenia, comprising of Jože Kotar (Clarinet), Zoran Mitev (Bassoon), and Luca Ferrini (Pianoforte). A fascinating ensemble who will be performing works by Kreutzer, Glinka, Vella, and Yeates Hurlstone.  

And the Mozarteum Trio is back with a programme ranging from Baußnern, Weber, Kreisler, Grünfeld and Hartzell. Virtuoso soloists in their own right they also form a formidable Trio that never fails to dazzle.

And for the 10th chamber music concert of this year's 28th edition, VIAF proudly presents yet another intriguing ensemble, Duo Hafdar, consisting of Samuel Cutajar (violin) and Kolja Gibbs (guitar). The will perform works by Albinoni, Paganini, Ourkouzounov, Granados, and Piazzolla.

The Primrose String Trio from France will give a recital of works by Scarlatti, Bach, Stamitz, Fauré, Vella, and more.
