The Assumption of Mary Feast at the Cathedral of the Assumption features a full day of religious and cultural activities. The day begins with a series of Masses starting at 5:00am, including a Pontifical Mass at 9:00am and an English-language service at 6:30pm. At 9:00pm, a Solemn Pontifical Concelebration will be led by Cardinal Legate H.E. Mario Grech, joined by Bishop Anton Teuma, the Cathedral Chapter, parish clergy, and seminarians. The Pope’s Apostolic Blessing with Plenary Indulgence will be imparted at the end of the celebration, held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta.

Throughout the day, additional events include a family Mass at 11:00am, a festive band march in central Victoria, prize presentations from the Santa Marija Fair, and a synchronized music and color show at Independence Square. Evening highlights include the singing of Second Vespers, band marches, and the solemn entrance of the statue of the Assumption of Mary accompanied by religious music. The day concludes with a grand musical performance, a fireworks show, and the final ringing of bells across Gozo at midnight, marking the end of the celebration. The final blessing will be given by Cardinal Legate H.E. Mario Grech from the Cathedral steps.
