Following the sixteen previous successful editions of Opera vs Pop Under the Stars, The Gozo Youth Orchestra in collaboration with The Ministry for Gozo and Planning and Embassy of the United States of America are once again proud to presents: “Opera vs Pop Under the Stars – 17th Edition” by the Gozo Youth Orchestra. The concert will be under the distinguished patronage of the Hon. Minister for Gozo and the Charges d’Affaires for the U.S. and will return once again back to the Gozo Ministry’s Courtyard, following a two-year absence and held at Ggantija Archaeological Park while works at the Ministry’s Courtyard were underway.

Preparation are underway to return to the original venue with a bang – in fact once again the concert will feature Soprano Pamela Agius Cibrano (New York), Bass Noel Galea (Gozo, Malta), Pop Tenor Ludwig Galea (Malta), and Pop Singers Clara Sciberras (Gozo, Malta), Dorothy Bezzina, Rachel Fabri, Neville Refalo, Lawrence Gray, Fabian Galea along international guest singers Tara Azar and KT Thomas (U.K) and Chiara Nicastro (Italy). The first part of the program will consist of classical and operatic songs and arias, followed by an array of lighter pop arrangements from soundtracks and musicals in the second part.

This concert kick-starts a series of large-scale events for the second of 2025. This includes: Stage and Proms on the Sea – 10th Edition at the Mgarr Marina on Wednesday 10th September 2025 by the Gozo Youth Wind Band, while the Gozo Youth Orchestra will present The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber 2 at the Malta Hilton on Wednesday 24th September 2025 and the Malta Premier of Jeff Wayne’s spectacular rock orchestral show – The War of the Worlds at Aurora Theatre on Saturday 22nd November 2025.
