As part of the celebrations marking its 30th anniversary, St. Mary’s Philharmonic Society will be presenting a sacred musical production featuring a central performance by the St. Mary’s Band, accompanied by solo vocalists, the parish choirs, and orchestral elements.
Crafted from a script by the Spiritual Director, Archpriest Mons. Noel Saliba, and enriched with original music and direction by Assistant Bandmaster Franco Cefai, this production delves into the most significant chapters of the life of Saint Mary, the patron saint of Żebbuġ. It seamlessly blends faith, tradition, and community spirit into a moving musical experience. Uniting Mons. Saliba’s evocative verses with Cefai’s musical vision, the oratorio features a heartfelt performance by Il-Banda Santa Marija, supported by an orchestral ensemble, a distinguished lineup of soloists — Raquela Dalli Gonzi (Marija), Noel Galea (Narratur), Michelangelo Muscat (Ġużeppi), Joseph Lia (Alla / Missier / Ġesù), and Ilyas Ige Sultana (Anġlu / Spirtu s-Santu) — and the combined voices of Il-Korijiet Santa Marija u Regina Angelorum under the direction of Marija Cefai. Together, they bring to life the most profound moments in Saint Mary’s story.
Join us for an evening where faith, tradition, and community come together — with a commemorative booklet available to mark the occasion.
