Lumen Ecclesiae
A unique exhibition featuring 11 life-size statues representing popes, bishops, and doctors of the Church. Crafted by Wistin Camilleri in 1913, the statues underwent restoration in the late 1970s when two were irreparably damaged. These were replaced by two new statues created by Camilleri’s son, Michael Camilleri Cauchi, in 1979. Art lovers and feast enthusiasts alike can now appreciate the beauty of these papier-mâché statues up close. The artist himself considered them among his finest works.
On November 2nd at 11:00, some of Wistin Camilleri’s children will host an open talk about their father’s work. The public is invited to attend and ask questions.
Exhibition: 9:00 – 12:00 | 16:00 – 18:00
