L-Appostlu Tal-Ġnus – Il-Musical

A Story of Faith, Fire & Destiny – LIVE on Stage
This September, L-Appostlu tal-Ġnus invites you to experience one of Malta’s most powerful stories in a new and unforgettable way. This open-air musical brings the story of St. Paul’s arrival in Malta to life through music, drama, and stunning visuals, right in the heart of Munxar Square, Gozo.
Told in Maltese and based on real events, the production follows the journey of St. Paul from his shipwreck in 60 A.D. through key moments that helped shape Malta’s history and identity. It’s a story of survival, faith, and purpose, presented with original music, a strong Maltese cast, and spectacular stage design.
To make sure everyone can enjoy the experience, an LED screen will be set up during the performance to show English subtitles.
What makes the production special:
- A Star-Studded Maltese cast: Featuring Malta’s top talent, including Eurovision’s Kurt Calleja, Clara Sciberras, Kurt Anthony and other leading performers, bringing energy and emotion to the stage.
- Immersive visuals like you’ve never seen: Using state-of-the-art stage projection and 3D mapping, Munxar Church becomes a living canvas, transporting you from Roman seas to 18th-century Malta.
- Original Score – An unforgettable musical journey blending orchestral grandeur and Maltese lyricism.
- A story that shaped a Nation: From the shipwreck in 60 A.D. to debates in 1749 under Grand Master Pinto, this is not just a story about St.Paul, but about Malta’s cultural and spiritual roots.
- Multilingual Accessibility – Enjoy the performance with live English subtitles on the LED screen, perfect for locals, expats, and visiting tourists.
This ambitious production is presented by SZPM and Munxar Parish, under the artistic direction of Carlos Farrugia and Alan Fenech. The script is written by Brian Bonnici, with music composed by Mro Antoine Mercieca and musical arrangements by Mro Joe Brown.
