Join us for a full day of religious and cultural celebrations marking 50 years since the coronation of the iconic painting of Santa Marija at the Gozo Cathedral. The event features:

17:45 – Arrival of Papal Legate Cardinal Mario Grech
18:00 – Solemn Concelebrated Mass with the Cardinal
19:30 – Pilgrimage with the Titular Painting from the Cathedral to Savina Square with musical accompaniment
20:15 – Prayer, Music & Reflection at Savina Square, led by Banda Cittadina Leone under the patronage of Malta’s President
22:00 – Torchlight Procession with the painting back to the Cathedral accompanied by clergy, religious orders, and faithful from all over Gozo

 The evening will feature a performance of “Per La Festa di Maria Assunta in Cielo” composed by Roman maestro Ramiro Barbaro, featuring Banda Cittadina Leone, Aurora Choir, and international soloists.

This historic event will close with a grand pyrotechnic display by Vampa Organisation at Il-Għolja tal-Għammar.
