8:00am: Solemn singing of Terce by the Chapter of the Collegiate Church, presided over by the Diocesan Bishop, in the Major Sacristy.
8:30am: Pontifical Concelebration presided over by His Excellency Mons. Anton Teuma, Bishop of Gozo and Dean of the Lateran Collegiate Church, assisted by representatives of the Cathedral Chapter, the Chapter and clergy of the Urban Basilica, and members of the secular and religious clergy. The celebration will be graced by the distinguished presence of Her Excellency Dr Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta.
The Mass in D in honour of St George “Princeps Martyrum” (1976) will be performed for soloists, four-part mixed choir, and orchestra, composed by Prof. Joseph Vella (1942–2018). Soloists include Miriam Cauchi (soprano), Antonino Interisano (tenor), and Louis Andrew Cassar (baritone).
11:30am: A lively and popular band march through the centre of Victoria featuring the St George Band (Ħal Qormi) and the St Elena Band (Birkirkara), culminating in a synchronized fireworks display with music presented by the La Stella Youth Association in Republic Street.
The Solemnity will be celebrated by the Chapter of the Urban Collegiate Church, presided over by Archpriest Mons. Joseph Curmi.
The psalms of the Second Vespers of St George, a composition by Prof. Joseph Vella, will be performed by the Laudate Pueri Choir of the Basilica.
7:00pm: Solemn exit of the titular statue of St George, Patron of Gozo, received by the La Stella Philharmonic Band with the religious hymn Georgius Natus Est (1984), with verses by Can. Joe Mejlak (1944–2008) and music by Prof. Joseph Vella.
7:15pm: Salutation to St George, Patron of the Diocese, by the La Stella Philharmonic Band with the blessing of the Immortal Hymn to St George the Martyr (1931), verses by Prof. Luigi Billion and music by Mro Giuseppe Giardini Vella, featuring tenor Antonino Interisano (Italy), baritone Louis Andrew Cassar (Malta), the choir of the La Stella Society, and the children’s choir of the Piccole Stelle Society, under the direction of Mro Dr John Galea.
This hymn (1931) began the tradition in 1934 of the Grand Hymn at the start of the titular processions, a tradition since adopted by all other parishes in Gozo.
7:30pm: Solemn procession with the titular statue of St George, presided over by Archpriest Mons. Joseph Curmi, with the participation of the Chapter and clergy of the Basilica, religious orders of Victoria, parish confraternities, and the La Stella Philharmonic Band, which will accompany with religious hymns.
8:00pm: March by the Victory Band (Xagħra) from Republic Street to Independence Square, where a musical program will be performed under the direction of Mro Marvin Grech.
8:30pm: March by the Mnarja Band (Nadur) from St Francis Square to St George’s Square, where a musical program will be performed under the direction of Mro Dr Joseph Grech.
