Solemn Pontifical Mass led by His Eminence Cardinal Mario Grech, with participation by all parish priests for the occasion.
12:00 p.m.
Midday Festive March begins in front of the band club at Orvieto Square, featuring the St. Antnin Band of Birkirkara. During this event, traditional confetti will be thrown from rooftops, and a reading of the “Traditional Message to the Parish” will be delivered by Commissioner Mario Briguzi in front of the Centre, followed by festive bell ringing.
7:00 p.m.
The parish community gathers in prayer and celebration before the statue of Our Lady of Graces, located in front of the Parish Church, accompanied by Fr. Franklin Vella.
7:45 p.m.
The San Ġorġ Band, together with the young followers of the Madonna statue, begins the grand procession with the statue of Our Lady of Graces, accompanied by the clergy and parish priest. Music will be provided by Societá Musicale “Sursure Melitense” of Mqabba, conducted by Mro. Mark Gauci, and guest conductor Mro. Dan George Mercieca. The procession will follow the traditional route through the village, and upon its return to the square, the hymn “Fil-Ġieh Tiegħek Marija” will be sung, followed by a blessing with the Holy Sacrament.
8:00 p.m.
The 1887 Statue of St. George will be displayed on the church parvis, accompanied by festive band music and pyrotechnic displays, featuring the work of the local fireworks clubs.
8:15 p.m.
The Banda Citadină Leone of Victoria will march from Avukat Anton Calleja Street to Orvieto Square, with musical entertainment provided along the route.
10:15 p.m.
As the statue of Our Lady of Graces reaches Sokkor Street, the traditional firework display “L-Aħħar Tislima” (The Final Salute) will take place. Meanwhile, the San Ġorġ Band will continue with musical performances, culminating in the performance of the Innu tal-Festa (Festival Anthem). This will be followed by a festive musical fireworks show from the Orvieto area, featuring synchronized fireworks by 25 ta’ Novembru (Żejtun), Mary’s Fireworks (Qrendi), and San Mikiel (Lija).
Upon returning to the square, the band will perform “Tislima lil San Ġorġ”, composed by Mro. Ray Sciberras, and the celebration will end with the traditional entrance of the statue into the church, a Eucharistic blessing, and the singing of the Eucharistic hymn, led by Cardinal Mario Grech.
