Festa ta’ San Dimitri Martri
October 19 @ 08:00 - 21:00
Free
St. Dimitri’s feast in Għarb blends centuries-old traditions with modern pyrotechnic artistry. The day begins at 8:00 am with traditional firework salutes echoing across the village, a symbolic gesture that marks the start of festivities and honors the patron saint.
At 12:00 pm, the celebrations resume with another round of fireworks, followed by an evening of displays starting at 7:00 pm, featuring pyrotechnics enhanced with sound effects for an immersive experience. The highlight of the evening comes at 7:30 pm, when a synchronized fireworks show set to music lights up the night sky. This spectacular performance is meticulously coordinated using the advanced COBRA system, ensuring perfect timing and harmony between sound and visuals.
After the fireworks, the traditional bonfire—a cherished element of the feast’s heritage—will be lit, bringing the community together in a warm and festive atmosphere. This annual event is more than a celebration; it’s a tribute to Għarb’s cultural identity and the enduring spirit of its people.
Important Notice: For safety reasons, organizers strongly advise that only authorized individuals enter the fireworks launch area.
