Explore the art of mosaics in a hands-on creative workshop for kids.
This engaging two-hour session offers children the opportunity to create their own butterfly mosaic using a mix of glass and ceramic tiles in a variety of shimmering, high-gloss finishes. Designed for ages 9 to 16, the workshop introduces the fundamentals of mosaic-making in a supportive, step-by-step format that encourages creativity while building new artistic skills.

No previous experience is necessary. Each participant will leave with a unique, handcrafted mosaic artwork—perfect as a keepsake or thoughtful gift.

About The Instructor:

Jackie Micallef is a local visual artist with a background in painting and a growing practice in mosaic art. Over the past years, she has developed a deep interest in mosaics and fused glass, combining her understanding of colour, form, and texture to explore this timeless medium. Jackie brings a calm and thoughtful teaching style to her workshops, ensuring each child feels supported and inspired throughout the creative process.

What You’ll Learn:

• Materials & Techniques – Learn about glass and ceramic tiles, adhesives, and the best surfaces for mosaics.

• Creative Design & Tile Placement – Arrange iridescent and glossy tiles to create a colourful butterfly that shimmers.

• Final Touches – Learn how to grout and finish the piece to make it shine!
