Other reviews of Bull:
Bull – Excerpt Review by Rebecca Pinnington – Jan 2015 – Young Vic, London:
Following the success of King Charles III and Cock, Mike Bartlett’s Bull lands at the Young Vic with a bang. A darkly comic and violent emotional rollercoaster of a play, Bull is some of the best fringe theatre I have seen in a long time.
Bull – Excerpt Review by Famke Veenstra-Ashmore – Oct 2021 – The Corpus Playroom, Cambridge:
Bull is a fifty-minute, stripped back production, which earns the play’s blunt and brutal name. Sparsely staged, but impactful and profound, this show handles its difficult themes maturely, featuring some very effective acting, and experimenting with interesting creative and dramatic elements in a fresh, yet clearly considered, way.
Bull – Excerpt Review by Fiona Mountford (Evening Standard) – Dec 2015 – Young Vic, London:
If we were looking for a writer of the year, it would be hard to argue against Mike Bartlett, winner of two Olivier Awards, for King Charles III and this play in its earlier run at the Young Vic, as well as the compelling if improbable BBC drama Doctor Foster.
Bull is easily the least showy of these three works, but it’s by far the hardest hitting. It is, in fact, brutal, pummelling viewing.
