Celebrating the universal language of music and dance, the 6th edition of the Aurora International Folk Festival returns to Gozo, hosted by the Leone Philharmonic Society, on Sunday, 19th October. The festivities kick off at 10:00 AM with a lively parade along Republic Street, followed by an exciting lineup of performances at 11:00 AM at Villa Rundle Gardens.

Audiences will enjoy colorful showcases by Aurora Folk Group (Malta), Gruppo Folk Sant’Andrea Tortoli (Sardegna), I Picciotti da Purtedda (Sicily), Regle Ensemble (Poland), Makedonke Club (Bulgaria), Oak Murmur – Polyphonic Ensemble of the Epirotes, Association of Zografou (Greece), Vachai Dance Group (Greece), Hrvatsko Folklorno Društvo (Croatia), and Collective “Kalyna” (Ukraine).

The festival concludes with a grand finale featuring all participating groups, set against the picturesque backdrop of Villa Rundle. Visitors can also take guided tours of Teatru tal-Opra Aurora, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the theatre’s renowned annual opera production. Entry to the event is free, making it an unmissable celebration of cultural heritage, rhythm, and tradition.
