Art Exhibition: Gateways and Portals
March 15 @ 12:00 - 17:45
Free
Planet Earth is entering 2026, a change that is both cosmical and cultural in nature as it is global and local. A time marked by various traditions and celebrations throughout history, the first quarter of the year features New Year’s Eve fireworks, Holi, the Lunar (or Chinese) New Year, Carnival/Mardi Gras, and the March Equinox. The names of the first months of the year reflect themes of beginnings, purification, and renewal from ancient Roman culture.
Gateways and Portals invites visitors to pause at the threshold of time, season, and meaning. This is where endings dissolve and new beginnings take form. This exhibition itself is a portal: a moment to cross, reflect, and step consciously into what is emerging.
Able to be viewed in-person or virtually, it aims to celebrate the various aspects of the first quarter of the new year. It explores the elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, Blue and Orange, and Celestial Spheres and Chinese Mythology, with each category revealing something about the mysterious world of gateways and portals.
This exhibition includes art works, fine art photography, as well as ceramics, by the following participating artists:
- Carri C. – acrylic and mixed-media paintings
- Christine Mizzi – tattoo art, candles, ceramics, acrylic and watecolour paintings
- Hel. A. Crafts – needle-felted framed works
- Loving Gozo Arts – acrylic paintings and découpaged artisanal items
- Marisa Warwick – paintings in oil and watercolour
- Richie’s Nature Photography – fine art photography
- Shaun McGrath – fine art photography
