The Opening Concert at Gaulitana presents a double choral bill with the Gaulitanus Choir & String Ensemble alongside the Silesian Chamber Choir Ad Libitum, with conductors Colin Attard (Malta) and Izabella Zielecka-Panek (Poland).

The Gozitan choir ushers patrons into Holy Week with British-American excerpts as the Polish ensemble interprets Faure’s powerful Requiem, his “pursuit of happiness in the hereafter”. The two concluding massed choir works, include the premiere a hymn by Pierre Louis Attard composed to celebrate the 800^th death anniversary of Francis of Assisi.
