Wind, Wheat & Wonder
July 7 @ 10:00 - 11:30
€10
Imagine … A bright new morning with a favourable wind for a mill to be operated; the miller letting the locals know by blowing through a triton-shell; the villagers bringing their cereals to be ground into flour.
On Monday 7th July at 10:00am, we are inviting children aged 5 -10 years to explore what such a morning would have been like, during a unique workshop at Ta’ Kola Windmill in Gozo – one of the few surviving windmills on the Maltese Islands dating from the Knights’ period.
Participants will follow the journey of wheat from field to table, and discover how grains were once ground into flour at the windmill. Under guidance, they will then prepare the dough for their own flatbreads using natural ingredients. Participants are asked to bring their own containers.
Book online on Store – Heritage Malta or visit any Heritage Malta site to reserve your spot.
Children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
Allergen Notice: Please note that this activity involves the use of wheat flour and other ingredients that may contain allergens such as gluten. If your child has any food allergies or dietary restrictions, kindly inform us in advance.
