Teatru tal-Opra Aurora is proud to once again welcome the Gozo Youth Orchestra, in collaboration with 7SPP, for the Malta premiere of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds – The New Generation.

This iconic progressive rock musical, based on H.G. Wells’ classic novel, blends rock band, orchestra, and powerful narration—this time voiced by Liam Neeson—with striking visuals, lighting, and special effects. The production is set to feature top local talent, with full cast details to be announced soon.

Originally released in 1978, Jeff Wayne’s concept album became a landmark in musical storytelling. The 2012 reimagined New Generation version updates the sound with modern synths and a fresh cast, bringing this epic tale to life for a new audience. This production promises to be one of the most ambitious yet—a truly unforgettable night at the theatre.
